Maria Lamance

Bay area native, Maria LaMance studied locally with Paul E. Curtis and then continued her classical studies at the San Francisco Ballet School, then broadened her training, studying modern dance, and ethnic forms at San Francisco State University.

She went on to connect with audiences in many countries, in many forms, including ballet, modern, dance theater, and film.

Recently, Maria's varied career has had her dancing for U.S. diplomats in Belarus, for music industry hipsters on Alcatraz island, for the Martha Graham company in New York City, alongside 50 Cent and Paris Hilton at the Superbowl, and for actor/ director David Arquette in his 3-D short film, The Butler's in Love. Recently, Maria has been seen performing with the Oakland Ballet Company, Black Diamond Ballet, Peninsula Ballet Theatre, Moving Arts Dance, Earth Circus, Huckabay McAllister Dance, Vau de Vire Society, Run for Your Life . . . It's a Dance Company, and Art- Face. Maria starred in the dance film short, The Nightingale, directed by Greta Shoenberg.

Maria teaches ballet, modern, and character dance to children and adults throughout the Bay Area. This is Maria's 14th year working with Mrs Parungao-Ferla at Dance Theatre International.

Maria has directed her Party Scene and Russian Ribbon Candies choreography for the San Jose Youth Ballet for 12 years.
