Ashley Hinson

Ashley Hinson is deeply passionate about teaching and movement. She believes that dance and the transformative power of movement is the best medium for self discovery and improvement. She has been happy to share her experiences through teaching for the past 5 years. Her interest in dance began when she was five, since then she has studied tap, jazz, ballet, modern, and lyrical jazz at studios around the bay area. Always curious, Ashley has studied other areas of movement including yoga, vaulting, gymnastics, and aerial dance. Her desire to share her love of movement has prompted her to pursue other avenues of performing arts including acting, musical theater, and circus arts. Her performance credits include performing for choreographers; Jesse Lovato, Amanda Valdez, Morgan Mulholland, and Francesca Cipponeri. She was a member of the musical theater group Company One under the direction of Janie Scott at San Jose State University. Ashley is a founding member of the equestrian drill team The Giddy Up Gals who were named the number one performing drill team in the state for 2009 - 2011, and have performed in many venues including the Pasadena Tournament of Rose Parade 2011 and 2012. Ashley wil be graduating from San Jose State University this fall with a Ba in Creative Arts, a BA in Dance, and a minor in humanities. After graduation she will be continuing her education through a masters in education. She hopes to utilize movement in the classroom to enrich both academic and personal education.
